Truly one of the sport’s most natural talents, John French has achieved high performance success in both the hunter and jumper disciplines. He has represented the United States in Nations Cups and FEI World Cup™ Finals and is also a two-time winner of the USHJA International Hunter Derby Championships, having captured the inaugural event before repeating the feat in 2023.

For over two decades, John French has consistently proven to be one of the most accomplished hunter riders in the sport, known for his unparalleled ability to both "catch ride" and develop young horses to success. John won the WCHR Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012 and was inducted into the Show Hunter Hall of Fame in 2020. He has held the title of World Champion Hunter Rider four times.

French is also highly regarded as a clinician, "R" licensed judge, and coach. In early 2020, he became a part of the training team with renowned Olympic show jumping athlete Kent Farrington and Farrington’s riding assistant, Claudio Baroni.

This powerhouse trio has combined their resumes to develop a comprehensive Hunter Division at KPF. The team at John French KPF has produced top athletes who have earned championships at the nation's most premier events, from the Winter Equestrian Festival to Devon, indoors, the USEF Junior Hunter National Championships, and more.
